The inside sales representative will work with outside sales and other members of the technical teams to create new customers, grow existing customers, and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas. This position is an essential part of our business with visibility and upward mobility potential to grow within the organization. This position requires high call volume output, attention to detail and follow up skills.
Job duties:
- Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
- Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
- Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications
- Accurately process customer information and requests in Salesforce.com
- Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
- Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional events
- Educate customers about features and benefits of products and services in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
- Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint
- Remain current on products and services by attending sales meetings, vendor training and trade shows, or reading trade journals
- Setup and maintain customer files in Salesforce.com
- Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the sales and technical teams
- Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
Qualifications/Competencies/Position Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Commission driven
- Self motivated and requires minimal supervision to achieve results and goals
- Sales skills to include demonstrated closing skills. Prior attendance at formal sales training courses considered a strong plus.
- Organizational skills for proper territory planning/management
- Demonstrated record of achievement in prior technical phone sales related position preferred. Creativity a plus.
- Excellent verbal, written and telephone skills supported by strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team structure.
- Ability to learn and retain product specific information as it pertains to the position.
- Computer literacy required; knowledge of MS Office products, Salesforce.com or other sales tracking system considered a plus.
- Demonstrate an aptitude of selling products
- Ability to work in a high call volume environment
