Security Architect-Network & Information Security

The Security Architect is responsible for identifying current and emerging IT vulnerabilities, for championing security standards and processes, review security architecture, and plan, develop and implement IT Security remediation programs. In this role the engineer will be an individual contributor, working proactively with various groups to identify security opportunities and to devise available solutions by providing security expertise on complex technology issues.

Essential Job Functions:

Developing and maintaining an I/T vulnerability management model for our client organizations. This includes:

(1) determining vision for I/T vulnerability management;

(2) identifying and rating various sources of vulnerability; and, (3) identifying an asset value each identified source .

(4) establish a methodology to periodically measure and report on the vulnerability

(5) establish a remediation plan, including patching, network and host firewall rules, antivirus/malware protection, intrusion detection systems.

(6) Be adept at tools such as network vulnerability management tools such as Qualys Enterprise Vulnerability manager, GFI Languard, Nessus, Mcafee EPO, etc.

Required Skills:

  • Must possess operational experience in McAfee HBSS, HIPS and ePO
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP network architecture and implementation is a must; ideal candidate will have worked with complex TCP/IP networks
  • System administration experience on any of the following platforms (e.g. Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux, HP-UX, AIX, Sun Solaris, Novell, etc.)
  • Excellent time management, reporting, and communication skills
  • An understanding of a wide array of server grade applications to include Lotus Notes, Exchange, DNS, SMTP, IIS, Apache, SharePoint, Active Directory, Identity Management, Patch Management, LDAP, SQL, and others
  • Superior problem-solving skills when it relates to IT issues
  • Experience with client interfacing situations and projects
  • Experience with McAfee security products (ePO, VirusScan, Host Instrusion Prevention, IntruShield, Secure Web and Email Gateways, Policy Auditor, and Foundstone)
  • Additional product experience with ArcSight, LogLogic, Symantec, SourceFire/SNORT, Nessus, Juniper/Netscreen, 3Com TippingPoint, and CheckPoint a plus
  • Cisco certifications CCNA, CCDA, CCSA or CCIE are nice to have
  • CISSP, CEH, MCSE or GIAC are a plus:
